something new

I have been crocheting for about a year now. Usually I can make things that are square, like scarves or scarves. I can definitely make things that are round too, like flowers, hats and cup cozies.

I just haven't tried clothes yet. Because there's usually some kind of joining involved. That's really it. It sounds so scary to me. Plus, when you make clothes you need to block your item when you're done, so it won't curl. I don't have a blocking board. I want one though!

Because I made something yesterday that needs to be blocked.

I made 3 actually. The one Eleana is keeping is white, she picked it herself. The blue one goes to her best friend and the gray one is going to her cousin/best friend. The only issue I have is the front of the piece wants to curl, hence why I need to block it.

I used the modified version of another shrug, found here. The original is here. I may try it for myself, or someone grown up size.
