a little winter break

snow!

Most of you know, who read this blog anymore, that I've had some serious plumbing issues here at the apartment. All of these things happened while I was on vacation, and I intend to blog about it eventually.

To take my mind off of the not-so-finer things in life I'm spending some much needed time cleaning and redecorating/organizing our little nest. I thought a blog entry with a cutie pie picture of Eleana would be much more appreciated than a blog entry about poop and mold.

I snapped this picture of Eleana on December 5. We were at my mom and grandma's then, visiting for an extended Thanksgiving vacation. The snow came and Eleana's face was lit up for a whole two days. Her favorite word that week was "snow."

This is one of the many shots I took of Eleana tromping through the snow. You can sorta tell by her face she had just almost fell over but caught herself. With no snow boots at our disposal, we layered up on clothes and tucked our pants into our socks.

I had to drag the poor dear inside kicking and screaming. She did not want to say goodbye to the snow. She could've played for hours, but without the proper attire I was worried her tootsies would get wet.

I also have a great video of her carrying on a conversation with my grandma, who was telling Eleana to come inside if she gets too cold. I'll post that later. I haven't even unpacked my camera yet.

Also, don't look for anymore updates for me until after the new year. Josiah is flying home tomorrow night at midnight, then Saturday morning we're driving back to WV to spend Christmas at home with the families. We haven't been home for Christmas since 2003. We haven't had a real Christmas together officially as a family since 2003 either. When Eleana was first born we had Christmas together in Bethesda, but that doesn't count because Joe was blind and we had no presents there. So this Christmas is a pretty big deal to us. We're going all out on the merriment and joy. Tonight I'll be downloading holiday tunes to my iPod and printing pictures to give as gifts to the fam. (because the plumbing issue, insurance included, still cost us a lot more than we could afford right now).

I love everyone who still reads this, and everyone who doesn't. I'm sorry for never blogging anymore, or commenting or whatever, but I'm just not in that place right now.

Merry Christmas, happy holidays, etc! I hope you all get what you wanted this year, and are able to spend these happy chilly days with the ones you love.
